Believe it or not there is a very active and friendly calculator community that is within fingertip reach online. In my own journey getting into calculators these sites have been invaluable for learning the ropes and meeting people to help me out along the way. I would like to share a few of the noteworthly ones with you here today.

I cannot recommend the good people at Cemetech.org. They are the home of many assembly shells and games. There are many active users and famous developers who are active on the boards and in the download section. Cemetech focuses almost solely on graphing calculators.

Another good resource is TiCalc.org, although the site and community are not as active as they used to be. There is a very large archive on the site that contains a lot of useful and fun programs and apps for all sorts of graphing calculators.

Speaking of graphing calculators, MyCalcs is a great website for collectors to share and dive deeper into the gritty details about their specific makes and models. This is how I found out that my Ti-84 Plus is newer than my Ti-84 Plus CE even though the 84 Plus came out almost two decades before. You can create an account and add your own calculators. This site is for graphing calculators, and they have almost all of them covered. My MyCals profile can be found here.

MyCalcs and Cemetech both have active and comprehensive Discord servers where you can get loads of information and meet-up with people involved in the community. If you are looking to get right into the hobby and are familiar with Discord, I cannot recommend these two servers enough as a great starting point and a place you'll come back to over and over.

Perhaps the largest camp of calculator enthusiasts (and certainly the OGs) is the HP community. An awesome resource to start getting into HP calculators is The Museum of HP Calculators. There is also an active group of people around hpcalc.org and you can also find a lot of interesting and useful things.

The calculator community is diverse and is full of people who have come to the hobby through all different paths. Some are engineers who used the devices daily, others are coders who enjoy making software solutions for people, and some are, like me, enthusiasts who enjoy a good calculator and tinkering with coding under the hood. Whatever draws you in, you are sure to find a group of passionate and knowledgable people who are willing to help out and get you started if you are ever interested in jumping in.
