Leave it to the folks over at Numberphile to have the best explaination on anything and everything math. In this video, Professor David Brailsford walks us through RPN and the stack. It is important to note that the stack (and its cousin the queue) are not something limited to RPN calculators. As I mentioned in my earlier post introducing RPN on the Swiss Micros DM32, the stack is how your computer and any other electronic device you use handles numbers and calculations. It is literally how your processor is processing whatever you are doing on your computer, tablet or phone right now.
This video is great because it offers a brief but very useful and easy to understand guide to the stack. It helps in understanding how to use an RPN calculator and how information is handled, stored, accessed and operated on in any sort of memory state. Enjoy.
